    and yet if you swap the fish for humans, suddenly you have one of the most horrific and eldritch horror stories that makes even adults cry themselves to sleep. the way they poke the one fish in the eye because it's not moving or responding, that fish was probably tryna fuckin go into the light, only to be jolted by a sharp pain in its face. some of those fish were missing large portions of their body, and some were contorted into disturbing shapes and angles. i swear one of them i saw had its head bent way past a sharp 90 degrees, yet the fins still wriggled. how ironic that the humans who fear death so much put these fish through fates that they themselves would consider far worse than death, the fishermen catching these fish and the cooks prepping them and likely even many of the people "enjoying" it know that the fish would suffer less if it were swiftly put down the moment it were removed from the water. the things people will do just to entertain for money or power, they're just insane. what's next in the world of esoteric new interests, fascinations, and hobbies?
